Culture Exploration Program in Desa Candirejo

Jakarta — From November 04 to November 07, 2025, the Junior High students of Sekolah Global Mandiri Jakarta took part in the Culture Exploration Program 2025 held in Desa Candirejo, Magelang, and Desa Rejowinangun, Yogyakarta.


This program was organized as a form of experiential learning that provides students with opportunities to explore local culture, understand traditional community life, and strengthen national identity through direct observation and real-life engagement.

Throughout the four-day exploration, students were introduced to various cultural, historical, and social learning experiences. In Desa Candirejo – Magelang, students engaged in activities related to traditional village life and local wisdom, including cultural workshops and educational tours surrounding community-based tourism areas. The immersive environment allowed students to observe how cultural preservation and community collaboration contribute to sustainable development.

Meanwhile, in Desa Rejowinangun – Yogyakarta, students participated in interactive cultural sessions such as traditional craft-making, regional art activities, and local culinary exploration. These activities provided valuable insights into the creativity and cultural expression that characterize Yogyakarta’s rich heritage.

The Culture Exploration program also served as a platform for building essential character values, including cooperation, adaptability, independence, and social responsibility. By learning directly within community settings, students experienced a meaningful connection to Indonesia’s cultural diversity beyond classroom learning.

Through the successful implementation of this program, Sekolah Global Mandiri Jakarta continues to encourage active, collaborative, and culturally grounded learning experiences that support students in becoming well-rounded individuals with strong cultural awareness and national pride.
