Student Council President Election of Primary Level

Primary Sekolah Global Mandiri Cibubur

The Primary Level of Sekolah Global Mandiri (SGM) Cibubur successfully held its Student Council President Election on September 29, 2026. As a designated flagship program (Program Unggulan) for the Primary level, the event provided a hands-on platform for character building, giving young learners an authentic introduction to democracy, leadership, and civic responsibility.

The election transformed the school environment into a vibrant democratic arena, thoughtfully designed to be engaging and age-appropriate for Primary students.

A Hands-On Democratic Experience

The entire process mirrored a real-world election while being adapted to make it engaging and appropriate for young learners. From the initial campaign period, which ran from September 14 to September 27, 2026, to the final ballot casting on September 29, students’ creativity, knowledge, leadership, and collaboration were actively demonstrated and developed.

The candidates-young leaders stepping forward to represent their peers-delivered speeches outlining their ideas and proposed programs for the school. This process encouraged them to step out of their comfort zones while developing their public speaking skills, confidence, courage, and creative thinking.

Empowering the Next Generation

Beyond simply selecting a new Student Council President, the election was a celebration of student voice and participation. For many Primary students, casting their vote at the polling booth was their first experience of civic participation, particularly for Grade 1 students who are new to the school.

The event successfully fostered a sense of unity, responsibility, and school pride, demonstrating that active participation, leadership, and democratic values can be nurtured from an early stage of education. (FOS)
