Cultivating Leadership Through the LDKS of Student Council

On Friday and Saturday, October 2 and 3, 2026, the Student Leadership Basic Training (LDKS) was held, along with a handover ceremony from the previous term. This activity was attended by approximately 50 students from the Student Council (SC) for the 2025-2026 period and prospective 2026-2027 periods. Present at the event were Ms. Nanik and Ms. Rara, who accompanied the students and the SC advisors.
Early Student Leadership
Leadership is one of the core competencies included in the curriculum at SDS Global Mandiri Cibubur. Through the Student Leadership Group (SC), student leadership is fostered through concrete actions in various activities. These activities include leading morning chores to greet students and enforce discipline. The SC officers on duty that day will be on the first and second floors to wait for students who have not yet arrived. Additionally, SC officers are accustomed to officiating at ceremonies held at the school.
Through leadership competencies, SC has become a collaborative partner for teachers and other educational staff at the school. This early leadership development provides a platform for the development of other competencies such as cooperation, discipline, responsibility, and caring. SC administrators from grades 4, 5, and 6 demonstrate that through SC activities, they are able to serve as role models.
This is crucial because leadership isn’t inherited. Leaders are born, but their competencies must be developed within a conducive learning environment. Leadership honed from an early age is a valuable asset for everyone involved as they advance to the next level.
A Well-Thought Plan Leads to Fulfilled Expectations

LDKS is a gathering of SC administrators from various levels. First, grade 4. This is the first level where SC administrators can join. However, even though it’s their first time, it’s easier for them to learn from their seniors. Second, grade 5. This is a level where some students already have experience as administrators from previous years. They have an easier time because they can simply build on and update their experience. Third, grade 6. At this level, the children are simply becoming motivators. They are the ones most prepared to remind their younger siblings.
Within the LDKS, they are divided into several groups, each with its own specific field. Within the SC leadership, there is a Daily Management Board (BPH) consisting of a president, vice president, and event coordinator. There is also a secretary and field coordinators ready to assist.
During the program development agenda, each administrator may submit ideas relevant to their field. These ideas will then be discussed with other administrators. If deemed appropriate, they will become part of the work program. The supervisor’s role is simply to facilitate and ensure everything runs smoothly. Over the next period, all programs will be implemented. A good plan will hopefully yield the desired results.
Knowledge Content and Leadership Relay

At this LDKS, the participants (SC administrators) were provided with various knowledge from specially invited speakers. First, there was a reinforcement of SC values delivered by Mr. Aldi. Second, there was a public speaking topic presented by Kak Haris, a teacher active in a teacher organization in Bogor Regency. Third, the topic of character and team building was presented by Mr. Gentur. Fourth, the topic of protocol was presented by Kak Sulthan from the Bogor Regency Paskibra.
All topics consist of explanations, games, and hands-on practice. Through this series of processes, it is hoped that all LDKS participants will be equipped with sufficient knowledge to join and implement the program at SC.
At the end of the LDKS, there will be a handover ceremony. The previous SC president will hand over the position to the president-elect. This is crucial, as it marks the inauguration of the new leadership. The hope is that this leadership handover will lead to a better SC.
