COLOR FIELD 2026: Inspired By Alma Thomas
Celebrating Art, Creativity, and Compassion
Pre-primary of Sekolah Global Mandiri Cibubur successfully held Color Field 2026: Inspired by Alma Thomas on February 4th–5th, 2026. This event became a vibrant celebration of art, featuring a student exhibition and class performances filled with color, creativity, and joy.
Inspired by American artist Alma Thomas, widely known for her Color Field paintings with large canvases and rhythmic arrangements of bright hues, this event carried the spirit of expressive color exploration that sparks curiosity and wonder. The Color Field style itself emerged in the 1950 and is characterized by the use of bold color fields and dynamic compositions.
Initiated by Ms. Susan as PIC of Color Field 2026, the exhibition introduced students to the early development of Color Field movement. Each class showcased its own interpretation of the style, resulting in a rich variety of artworks, each glowing with color and personality. It was a special moment where young artists proudly presented their creations to their parents.
Beyond the exhibition and student performances, the event also featured a Charity Auction (Auction for Donation) as an act of social compassion. Funds raised from the auction will be donated to communities affected by natural disasters in Aceh Tamiang, Sumatra. With the participation of parents, the auction became not just an appreciation of art, but also a platform for nurturing empathy and meaningful action.
